Alison Smetana

Alison is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, earning her Master’s degree in Social Work in 2011. She began working with men who engaged in problematic sexual behaviors in 2009. Since then, her career has spanned from working with men with cognitive impairments or serious and persistent mental illness in a community-based agency, to the Minnesota Department of Corrections’ prison-based treatment program. Alison enjoys helping her clients find success and happiness following an offense, and has experience identifying and addressing the unique needs of her clients to support individual and community safety.

Nakumbe

Dr. Nakumbe, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a Doctorate Degree in Cognitive Psychology. He has extensive clinical experience working with all gendered adults, juveniles, and their families in a variety of settings and in the areas of drug addiction and forensic mental health. Since 2012, he’s provided treatment, therapy, care coordination services, and court testimony to adult offenders and adolescents that have engaged in problematic sexual behavior. His treatment approach is rooted in attachment-based therapy, motivational interviewing, schema therapy, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed mindfulness. Dr. Nakumbe is intentional about providing culturally competent care to diverse and LGBTQ clients. He’s most often described by his clients as an insightful therapist who utilizes a humorous and direct approach that is both affirming and compassionate. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Nakumbe is an international motivational speaker and conducts training on topics related to mindfulness, relationship conflicts, addiction recovery, and understanding risk & protective factors in culturally diverse family systems.

Heather Roberts

Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor, earning her Master’s in Clinical Psychology in 2014. In her career, she has provided outpatient therapy and crisis services to a diverse range of clients in a community mental health setting and worked with children and families involved in the child welfare system. She has also taught a variety of psychology courses as an adjunct professor, and has created group treatment content for the Minnesota Sex Offender Program. Heather believes that every client deserves the opportunity for growth and change, and is dedicated to applying a holistic approach to help clients find solutions that work in their own lives.

Naomi Eden

Matthew received his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel University. He is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and sees clients in our Burnsville location. He is a Minnesota State Approved Supervisor with the boards of marriage and family therapy and behavioral health. His areas of expertise and clinical focus include court ordered clients, individuals with harmful sexual behaviors, sexual addiction, impulse control disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma recovery, post-traumatic stress, resiliency, forgiveness of self and others, self-esteem, dissociation and the integration of spirituality and psychotherapy. Matthew's approach is strengths-based and client-centered and focuses on the inherent value of humans and the power within each of us to bring about our own change. He also works from a family systems approach by incorporating family of origin into individual therapy and being aware of family structures and roles while working with families and couples. He is trained in EMDR. Matthew appreciates and values the opportunity to work with clients at all stages of change and from all faith backgrounds.

Dr. Jennifer Weigelt is Licensed Psychologist as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology. Over the years, she has provided an array of therapeutic services with clients experiencing a diversity of problems. Most recently, her clinical interests include working with adolescents and adults who have engaged in harmful and/or problematic sexual behaviors. This work includes group and individual and group therapy, assessments and evaluations. She values the importance of using evidence-based practices, while establishing supportive, motivational and culturally competent therapeutic relationships, ensuring an atmosphere of safety, security and responsive care. She employs a holistic treatment approach to guide clients in creating the change they want to see in their lives. Trina Hendrickson is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has worked as a Clinical Therapist with the Department of Corrections with a focus on the treatment of sexual abusers, addictions, criminality, and chemical dependency, and as a Mental Health Therapist and Behavioral Therapist within community settings. As a therapist, Trina is warm, open, encouraging, and focuses on an individual’s strengths. Trina considers herself an active therapist; combining experience, education, creativity, and sense of humor with a down-to-earth realistic approach to counseling. She believes that healing is a collaborative journey that needs honest caring without judgment. Rather than adopting one methodology for all individuals and issues, She draws from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual and situation.

Leigha is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker, earning her master’s degree in Social Work in 2012. In her career, she has supported clients in various community-based settings primarily living with various mental health conditions and chemical use backgrounds. Since 2014, she has worked with individuals on civil commitment, supporting clients to follow court-ordered requirements and reintegrate into their communities. Leigha is passionate about working from a lens of compassion and accountability in the development and use of prosocial and healthy living skills for long-term wellness.

Nycole is a graduate student at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Clinical Social Work. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Work in 2011. During her undergrad internship, she worked at Dakota County Corrections probation with sexual offenders. Since late 2012 she has worked with the State of Minnesota at the Forensics’ Security Hospital and Community Based Services. Nycole enjoys helping clients use their natural strengths and abilities to support person-centered support for individual and community safety.

Elizabeth is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Argosy University. She began working with men who have engaged in problematic sexual behaviors in 2015 with the State of Minnesota. She has experience working with men and women in co-occurring disorders, SPMI, personality disorders, grief and loss, trauma, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. She works from a person-centered approach to ensure that every client feels respected, heard, and supported throughout the treatment process.

Kou Yang has a Master’s in Community Counseling. Kou comes from a family-oriented background and practices with a theoretical lens that looks at family dynamics to understand his clients better. He earned an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University and his graduate degree in Community Counseling from St. Cloud State University. His graduate internship was working in an outpatient sex offender treatment program, where he worked with individuals and families and facilitated sex education courses. After graduating with his master’s, he worked in various sectors serving people who experience serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI) within underserved communities. For the past seven years, he has worked in non-profit organizations, which has led to extensive work with different cultural backgrounds within the community. Kou is passionate about working with clients and assisting them on their journey to being self-sufficient by creating support, hope, and faith. He believes these are foundational for anyone who wants to change and become a contributing individual in their community. He also believes that everyone deserves a second chance and can thrive with the proper foundations to assist them along the way.

Dr. Andrew Hull received his Ph.D., in Clinical Psychology in 2021. He is currently working on his post-doctoral hours towards licensure. Andrew completed his pre-doctoral internship at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota, where he provided psychological services to individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. Prior to internship, Andrew worked for the Minnesota Department of Corrections for six years as a licensed professional clinical counselor, providing mental health services to the incarcerated population. Andrew is excited to gain additional experience working with those who have offended and provide services to assist clients in reaching a more meaningful and fulfilling life in the community.

Dr. Amber Lindeman is a Licensed Psychologist who earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006. She has worked with sex offender clients her entire career, including evaluation and treatment of adolescents and adults, primarily within the Minnesota Department of Human Services and Department of Corrections. Her continual involvement in professional organizations keeps her connected with current research, evidence based practices, and other professionals. Amber is passionate about preventing sexual offenses through working with those who have offended, and prides herself on her ability to join with clients to promote prosocial choices and healthy lifestyles.

Ronda Disch

Ronda is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She has been working exclusively with the forensic population since 2014. Prior to specializing in this area of treatment, she worked as a mental health therapist and crisis clinician for clients with a wide range of mental health care needs. Before relocating to Minnesota, Ronda was providing psychosexual evaluations, sex offender treatment, and court testimony for a five county metro area in Illinois and Iowa. Her passion working with this population shows in her dedication to treating her clients with the respect they deserve and to seeing her clients succeed.
